Why it is Important to Find a Deep Seated Sense of Meaning and Purpose in Life.

When I was in my early 20s, I learned an unexpected life lesson through a conversation with my dad in front of the iconic Disneyland castle. My latest video explores the questions he asked me and how it shaped my life. Give it a watch and read on if you want to explore how our sense of purpose and happiness are intertwined.

The Importance of Purpose

I think about that question regularly. Do you feel like you have a sense of purpose? Do you have meaning that excites you in getting out of bed every morning? Studies show that having a sense of purpose matters. In my recent study, I found that 87% of Americans agree that having a sense of purpose leads to greater happiness in their lives. Lucky for us, studies also show that purpose doesn't have to be something big. It just has to be big enough for you.

What’s Your Purpose?

Having a sense of purpose doesn't mean you have to cure cancer or be the next Mother Teresa. It just means having something that gets you out of bed in the morning and drives you despite challenges.

What is your purpose? What makes you excited to get out of bed every day? Reflect on what brings meaning to your life and pursue it, no matter how small it may seem.

If you’re looking for ways to find and refine your purpose, start by asking yourself the question my dad always asked me, "What's the meaning of life?" And don't be afraid to change your answer as you grow and evolve.

By focusing on smaller, manageable actions that bring joy and fulfillment, you can build a stronger sense of purpose that leads to a happier, more meaningful life.
