Divinity & Success
Last night while waiting patiently for my son and nephew to go to sleep I read the "7 Spiritual Laws of Success" by Deepak Chopra. He talked about how if we truly understood that we are divine beings we would know that God wants us to be successful and powerful. Chopra also says we would eliminate the feelings of superiority and comparison as we look at others because they, too are divine beings destined for success and prosperity. I've been thinking about that over and over. I love how it makes me feel, and that at my core, I knew that all along. On one hand, I considered this to be a religious principle since I believe that we are all divine beings. But it's not bound by religion, it's bound by the universe. If you believe in God, and you believe you are a divine child of His, you can also believe that success and prosperity are yours to have, if you are true to your divine mission (which I also believe everyone has a divine mission).Chopra says, "True success is therefore the experience of the miraculous. It is the unfolding of the divinity within us. It is the perception of divinity wherever we go, in whatever we perceive - in the eyes of a child, in the beauty of a flower, in the flight of a bird. When we begin to experience our life as the miraculous expression of divinity - not occasionally, but all the time - then we will know the true meaning of success."So here's the personal juicy stuff. I have said to myself that I don't deserve success because I'm a woman, because I believe in God and humility and because I'm a mother. Though I have always dabbled in business and been successful at times, in the back of my head, I have often said, "I don't deserve this."This has been coming ever to the forefront as I'm launching a new venture that is VERY personal because I'm selling myself. Me. Michelle McCullough as a speaker and strategist. Something negative in my head is saying, "You can't do that!? Who are you to be wonderful and fabulous?" It reminds me of that Marianne Williamson quote that is often quoted. "Who am I not to be?"I'll stop rambling shortly...but while I'm on the subject, just wanted to say that today, as part of MY divine mission, I refuse to allow negativity and nay-sayers to keep me from success. If that's part of what God has in store for me, I accept. I'm open to receive.I wrote this note on August 1st for facebook, and wanted to share it here with you.Do you believe that God is part of your business?
